Dental Implants in an Experienced, Comfortable Office

Today, Dr. Ritt Kuhn handles dental implant placement for our patients. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Dental Implant Associates of North Carolina, and has been placing dental implants since 2006. Dr. Ritt Kuhn has completed advanced training in dental implant placement, including a year long mini residency in 2007 on implant placement and bone grafting.

We do all steps of the dental implant placement right in our office. This includes diagnostics and planning, 3D CT scans, extractions, placement of implants and the restoration (crown, bridge or dentures), and also includes follow-up visits and lifetime maintenance of the implants. And our friendly, professional team members make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of during the entire procedure.

Our Procedure for Placing Your Dental Implants

Meticulous diagnostics

CT scans give us detailed 3D images for planning your implant surgery.

Your implant procedure will begin with a comprehensive oral exam and review of your medical and dental history. Any needed diagnostics are done, including X-rays, intraoral and extraoral photos and 3D CT scans.

Preparing your new teeth

Impressions are taken and sent to our trusted lab so that your restoration can be created. The lab we use makes quality restorations. They do beautiful work and we have been using them for over 40 years.

Virtual surgery with 3D technology

Dr. Kuhn plans the implant placement ahead of time using 3D implant planning software.

The CT scanner is used to scan detailed 3D images which are then fed into special implant planning software, nSequence. Dr. Kuhn uses this implant planning software to virtually plan the surgery. He is able to work out ahead of time the exact angle and position in which to place the implant or implants. As a result, exploratory cutting of the gums is not necessary, making for a minimally invasive procedure.

The digital planning also lets Dr. Kuhn optimize the procedure for maximum efficiency. That means you’ll spend less time in the dental chair, and have the highest assurance your implants will be placed in the optimal configuration.

We’ll make sure you’re comfortable

Your comfort is a top priority for us. If you feel anxious about your procedure, we offer oral and IV sedation, as well as NuCalm®, a new, revolutionary drug-free natural supplement to help you relax.

Gentle extractions

If extractions are needed, Dr. Kuhn can extract your teeth and, in most cases, can place your dental implants at the same time. Dr. Kuhn is very experienced at dental extractions and is very gentle.

Bone grafting and sinus lifts

If there is not sufficient bone to successfully support dental implants, Dr. Kuhn will perform a bone grafting procedure to augment the jawbone.

Some patients have sinuses that have expanded into the area where an implant would be placed in the upper jaw. In these cases, we perform a procedure known as a sinus lift.
