Replacing a single tooth

dental implantDr. Kuhn recommends replacing a single missing tooth with a dental implant. Implants are natural-looking, long-lasting, stable, and feel and act like your original teeth. Dental implants are the modern solution for replacing missing teeth.

Dental Bridges: The pros and cons

dental bridge

Traditional dental bridges require that the teeth adjacent to the gap be ground down.

We evaluate each person on an individual basis to determine what is the best course of action for you. When considering dental bridges, we evaluate the health of the teeth that are adjacent to the missing tooth, because dental bridges require that these neighboring teeth be shaved down as preparation for crowns that support the bridge.

If the adjacent teeth are healthy, we prefer to use a dental implant so that it isn’t necessary to alter these teeth. If the neighboring teeth are not in good condition, or already have crowns, this is not a concern and we use a traditional bridge for a more affordable solution.

Replacing some or all your missing teeth

The solution for replacing multiple – or all – missing teeth is dependent upon the number of teeth missing, your expectations and your budget. Listed below are services that we consider in this circumstance.

Dentures

Solutions for Missing TeethDr. Kuhn offers dentures that provide underlying facial support to plump lips, lessen wrinkles and help to fill out your face. These dentures are designed to accommodate the movement of facial muscles and provide a stable, comfortable fit that distributes pressure more evenly across the gums. Even distribution of pressure increases chewing ability and reduces potential discomfort.

Solutions for Missing TeethImplant-Supported Dentures

This option involves placing a customized metal bar that is anchored with three to four dental implants.Your denture and bar are fitted with clips, and your denture snaps onto the metal bar. The bar provides strong support for your denture and increases stability and chewing ability.

This procedure can be used in both the upper and lower jaws, and your denture can be removed for cleaning.

Solutions for Missing TeethDenture Stabilization with Mini Dental Implants (MDIs)

Mini dental implants offer a minimally invasive and quick solution for stabilizing your existing (or new) dentures. Four slender posts are placed in each arch to act as tooth roots and snap on to a retaining fixture incorporated into the base of your denture. Dr. Kuhn has seen a dramatic change in his patients’ lives after stabilizing their dentures.

Solutions for Missing TeethFull-arch, fixed-in teeth with All-on-4® New Teeth in One Day

With the All-on-4 procedure, Dr. Kuhn can provide you with a new set of teeth, often in one day. Four dental implants are placed in strategic angles and locations to evenly distribute the load of a full artificial arch.
