Maintaining your lifestyle
You are never without teeth! Dr. Kuhn understands the physical and psychological effects missing teeth can have. He will provide you with comfortable immediate dentures for use while your final dentures are being made.
Rejuvenating Dentures provide underlying facial support, plump the lips, lessen wrinkles and help to fill out your face. They are designed to match the full height your teeth were when you were young, and as a result, they can reduce many of the signs of facial aging that result when teeth wear down or are lost.
Traditional dentures sit back further in your mouth, toward your tongue, for stability. This backward shift causes an aged, sunken appearance. Rejuvenating Dentures are much more stable and positioned outward for a more natural and youthful look.
Rejuvenating Dentures not only look great, they function beautifully. Traditional dentures are designed using impressions of your mouth that are taken when your mouth is closed and resting. Rejuvenating Dentures use impressions of your mouth in natural motion, and these dynamic impressions eliminate guesswork about how your facial muscles will move while talking, eating and smiling.
Chewing requires pressure, and Ill-fitting dentures often distribute this pressure unevenly, resulting in painful, irritated gums. Rejuvenating Dentures are designed to accommodate the movement of facial muscles to provide a stable, comfortable fit that distributes pressure more evenly across the gums and reduces denture pain.
All types of dentures we provide
Full dentures are used when all teeth are missing, or will need to be extracted to maintain oral health.
We recommend Rejuvenating Dentures to restore your facial dimensions and provide a more youthful appearance.
Immediate, or temporary, dentures mean that you will never be without teeth. Dr. Kuhn will provide temporary dentures that are both comfortable and functional.
No-Metal Partial Dentures
Dr. Kuhn may suggest a partial denture when you have healthy natural teeth remaining. A partial denture fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, preventing adjacent teeth from changing position. There are various types of partial dentures, and Dr. Kuhn uses will recommend the solution that best fits your needs.
Dentures that are supported by dental implants provide the most lifelike, stable option for denture wearers. Dental implant posts replace the missing roots of teeth and provide the stimulation necessary to keep jawbone from melting away.
Denture Stabilization with Mini Dental Implants (MDIs)
Dr. Kuhn use mini dental implants (MDIs) to stabilize dentures. This minimally invasive procedure can secure both partial and full dentures, and helps to deter jawbone loss. Dr. Kuhn can also retrofit your existing denture for stabilization with MDIs.
All-on-4® New Teeth in One Day
In some cases, you can get teeth extracted, implants placed and a temporary set of teeth placed in the same day. This would be after all initial exams, X-rays and planning have been completed prior to the day of surgery. Once the dental implants have fully integrated with the jawbone, the final, permanent teeth will be placed.
Making your dentures more comfortable
Relines and repairs
We do relines and repairs of dentures when needed. A reline involves resurfacing the interior portions of your denture so that it will fit snugly again. Although you take good care of your dentures, they may crack or break under certain conditions. We offer expedient services for repairing your dentures. Relines and repairs offer practical and economical alternatives to purchasing a new set of dentures.
Surgical treatment to smooth a jaw line
Alveoplasty is a dental surgery used to smooth the jawbone. Dr. Kuhn conducts the alveoplasty procedure to smooth bumps in the jawbone or to taper the jaw’s ridge so that dentures fit more comfortably. It’s a precision surgery that requires a balance of maintaining bone weight and bone height. In certain instances, a bone graft may be necessary to smooth the bone and ensure enough height. The surgery is provided in the comfort of our office, usually with a local anesthetic. We also offer the options of oral or IV sedation to ensure you are free from pain during treatment.
