Clear Aligners
One of our most popular orthodontic options for teens and adults are clear aligners like Invisalign and ClearCorrect. This allows our patients to have a choice between the top two clear aligner brands. Between the two, there’s not much difference in the treatment. Each requires you to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day. You can remove the aligners for eating, drinking and brushing your teeth and they are both made of clear plastic so you don’t even look like you’re wearing braces. Clear aligners are comfortable to wear and take away the discomfort and hassle associated with traditional braces.
Traditional Braces
If you would prefer to go a more traditional approach to orthodontics, we also offer traditional metal braces. These are suitable for all ages including children. For some patients, these are the best option for correcting bite problems and straightening teeth. Dr. Grimshaw uses mini twin brackets which are 30% smaller than traditional braces which make them more comfortable to wear. They also look more appealing. We also offer self-ligating braces that use special clips to connect the braces together as opposed to wires. These don’t require the use of rubber bands which are much more comfortable to wear. Dr. Grimshaw will help you determine which option is the best one for your smile.
Early Preventive Orthodontics
Correcting bite or alignment problems is easy when caught early in the development of the jaw and teeth. Dr. Grimshaw will examine your child’s airway, bite, and growth development of the upper and lower jaws to ensure proper growth. With proper growth, teeth will naturally come in straight. If there are any problems, Dr. Grimshaw can interfere with preventive techniques to help the jaw develop correctly. This can prevent your child from needing orthodontics down the line.
